THE CA'tiE OF THE CAR WHEN RADIATOR STEAMS Do not remove the radiator cap when it is" steaming. Stop the engine and allow it to cool a few minutes to prevent burning of the hands and face by scalding water and steam. A TYRE-PUMP HINT Screw-011 adapter,at the cud of the tyre tubing sometimes become still' Oil their swivels, and it. is then very dillicult to connect the pump. In this case it is a good plan simply to hold the adapter with one hand against the valve stem, and to turn the pump with the other, thus twisting the rubber connection and screwing the adapter on the stem. The adapter should finally be tightened on the valve stem with finger and thumb, and the process is reversed, of course. TYRE CHANGING HINT When changing n tyre cure should bo taken to put the rim back on the wheel properly li is not advisable to tighten each lug to its full extent before proceeding to the next. Instead, the motorist should go all round the rim, turning down each nut 11 few times, and adopting this procedure until all the lugs are down properly. If one lug is tightened while th'-< others arc loose, the rim is likely to be bent out of shape, and the tyre mounted in 11 lopsided way. In addition, a rim that is unevenly held down around its circumference is likely to squeak or wort ! loose.
