.MEETING OF TOWN BOARD The ordinary meeting of the Tahunanui Town Board was held in the town I hall. There were present : Messrs F. W. i Grcenslade (chairman). C. I. E. Bell, |G. Cunningham, J. E. 0. Day, J '- Hobern, E. Ingham, M. O'Sullivan. Accounts amounting to £O6 13s Id were passed for payment. The lion, secretary, Tahunanui Cricket Club, asked the Board to receive a deputation of members at the next Board meeting with reference to assistance to a scheme for the improvement of the 1 cricket ground. I The Public Works Department wrote with reference to disposing of the sur- | plus soil from the Rocks Road; and I advising that the matter of the grade 'of Tosswill's new road was under consideration. I The District Highways Council .No. 'll advised that the Main Highways Board would tour the northern part of the South Island following Easter. Tiie Minister of Internal Affairs advised that a public enquiry would be held on behalf of the Town Planning Board in the Nelson City Council Chambers on the Bth of April at 10 a.m. The following resolutions were passed : That the action of the chairman be endorsed in sanctioning drain to be put in from Mr Bailey's to catchment pit; that the Nelson City Council bo advised that the Board arc installing the electric lights on Rocks road and the Board respectfully suggests that the City Council light "their portion of the road; that the electric lights on the Rocks road be completed; that the deputation from the Tahunanui Cricket Club bo received at the next Board meeting; that the action of the chairman authorising special work on Beach road be confirmeel (the work comprises widening the road to the full width to the end of the recreation ground and from there to Moana street ten feet); that the matter of requiring the spoil from the main highway be left to the chairman to make the best possible arrangements with the District Engineer, Public Works Department that the Inspector of Health 'be asked to report on the two septic tanks in Golf road, and also be asked when ho is completing ! the inspection of the township; that .the chairman interview the inspector of health with reference io the application for a septic tank on *Moana avenue; that the chairman and town clerk attend the conference, of town planning to be neid in Citv Council's chambers on Bth April, that the watertabics in Edward street <tnd Bisley Avenue 'be cleaned out; that t,!ic watertable and footpath from Mrs Booth's to culvert be attended to; that Mr O'Sullivan and Mr Cunningham work 111 conjunction with the chairman with reference to the work on Beach road.
