_ PARTS, 21st March. | 'I iu- International Lawn Tennis Association, including representatives of Australia and New Zealand, refused a permit for open tournaments between amateurs and professionals, which America proposed. The association also decided that it was unnecessary to change the rules prohibiting amateurs from receiving accessories free or at wholesale prices. On France's proposal, the organisation of the Davis Cup competition was transferred from the Davis Cup Committee to the International Federation. AUCKLAND TOURNAMENT AUSTRALIANS SCOOP THE POOL (By Telegraph—Press Association) AUCKLAND, This Day. Australia scooped the pool at the special invitation tennis tournament arranged by the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association. Australians were in the liimls of the men's singles, men's doubles and are in the semi-finals and final it' I lie mixed doubles. They provided ■ niiii' brilliant tennis. Results:— Men's singles final—Sproule beat Donohoe, 6-0. 6-3, 6-2.
Ladies singles final —Miss Marjorie Marbii'laml beat Miss Bervl Knight" 8-6, 7-9. 6 1. .Men's doubles final Kalms and Tongue beat Sproule and Donohoc 11-9, 5-7. 6-2. 6-2.
