INJURY WHILE TRAINING

WANGANUI, This Day

While training for the athletic championships, oil Cook’s Gardens track last evening. Jack Foote, aged 19 years, a member of the Wellington team, crashed into a fence which surrounds the oval and received a serious head injury, lie was rendered unconscious. Foote was subsequently operated on in hospital and regained consciousness. His condition is now satisfactory, but it will be impossible for Foote to compete in the championships as he will be an inmate of Wanganui Hospital for some time.
