YOUNG ENGLISH SIDE

WARNER PICKS TEAM TO OPPOSE AUSTRALIANS

(United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright)

LONDON, 3rd February. Warner, in- the "Morning Post," impressed with the youth of the Australian eleven, selects an English side in which none has attained the age of 28, to oppose them. They are: Allen, Mitchell, Hammond, Larwood, Ames, Duleepsinhji, Robins, Killick, Peebles, Crawley and Voce. The average age is 23 years. Young England has no four batsmen equal to Ponsford, Kippax, Bradman and Jackson, but Warner says it will be admitted that Hammond is the greatest of either side and Duleepsinhji comparable with Jackson and Bradman. England's bowling with Voce, Robins and Peebles is definitely stronger.
