SCOTS WHA' HAE

(To the Editor) Sir. —On St. Andrew's night the Scots folk of .Nelson had the opportunity of hearing a very fine Scots concert in tho School of Music, the items of which were all excellently rendered by local artists. There was quite a nice gathering of the Scots people, and one and all went away well satisfied with the evening's entertainment. I may say, to my mind, here in Nelson there is one link that is missing in the form of Society. That is a Scottish Society—one that is held dearest to the hearts of all Scots folk. Throughout the Dominion brither Scots meet at various times in, I think, close on 50 centres. But here ill our beautiful little town of prosperous folk, so pleasure-loving an' a' that, wi' Scots folk plenty o' 'em, so far in this respect we have failed. So even if we are last 1 hope «> will not be least. I understand that before the war there was a strung Scottish Society here, but during the war it was closed down and has remained so ever since. So why not rally together and "u----deavour to do something worth while by re-forming the Scottish Society for the benefit of our ain folk, all of whom I am sure would do all they could to flourish the .Society. Why not L r et 'busywhile the fire's alight? Don't wait tiil after Christinas or later. Why should we? Christmas won't wait for us.—l am. etc., CLANSMAN. Nelson, sth December.
