Thanks to the courtesy of Aliss Mills the Old Girls' Association held a pleasant social evening in the College gymnasium. During the evening two interesting competitions were held, games were played and all enjoyed the country dances arranged by Miss Edwards. .Miss Monica Riley also gave a pleasing recitation. During tliei evening flu; secretary spoke regarding 'the proposed Old Girlr,' Club. It was suggested at the annual meeting of the Old Girls' Association, ihat an Old Girls' Club should be formed in Nelson with a. club room lor the use of old girls who were members of the Association. A committee was appointed to estimate the cost of the formation of such u club and to make enquiries about a. room. This committee reported to n meeting of the executive in May. when it, was resolved that the actual formation of the club be delayed till funds could be raised and until a membership of about 30 members could lie guaranteed. In order to form the club a room would have to lie rented, such n room would lequire furnishing, while there would be running expenses such as lighting and heating. .Sufficient funds would be an essential to success. ft was therefore resolved to delay the project till sufficient funds could be raised. Old girls were asked to help in the raising of funds by assisting with an enfetiaiument, putting down their names as provisional members of the club, and bv helping wit li I In- formation of the club.
;i'.u\ questions about the club were invited. The evening closed with (he singing of the National Anil..-in.
