RESCUE OF GERMAN CADETS

LONDON, 26th November. The steamer LanwistiTtt Osterley rescued the cadets on the German training barque Pommern with the aid of tho Limerick and tho Cheap,stow Castle, which stood bv. The Laneastria launched a lifeboat,’but this was smashed up, the crew having the narrowest escape. The rescue of ail the Pommern’s crew was finally effected by pouring oil on the mountainous seas.
The wind was sometimes 85 or 90 miles an hour.
Tho destruction of tho Camlington aerodrome Inis involved the loss of the Newcastle Aero Club’s entire licet of Moth ’planes. The roof of the hangar fell in, the ’planes being crashed against the sides of the hangar.
