MAGISTRATE’S COURT

TO-DAY’S SITTING Air T. E. Maunsell, S.M., presided at the Magistrate's Court this morning. Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the following civil cases:— Hugh James MeCubbin v. E. Gill, £3 2s 9d, costs £1 7s 6d: Wainiea County Council v. Olive Bertha Frater £7 17s 9d, costs £1 10s 6d : G. Page and Sons, Ltd., v. Francis Joseph Talbot £2 15s 9d, costs £1 4s fid. ABSENCE FROM DRILL For failing to attend military parades Kenneth John McKegnev was convicted and fined 10s with costs 10s. On a similar charge William Roughton was convicted and fined £2 with costs 10s. The prosecution described Roughton’s case as a bad one.
