WELLINGTON ROLLS
11,000 NEW VOTERS
An- increase of about 11,000 in the number of names on the electoral rolls for the Wellington urban electorates as compared with the rolls for the last General Election is disclosed by figures made available for publication by the Chief Electoral Officer (Mr G. G. Hodgkins). . Substantial increases are recorded m respect of each electorate, the comparative figures being as follows :
Of the total iifynes registered for the coming General Election, 20,579 appear on the supplementary rolls. The figures in respect to the Hutt electorate are not yet available.
AUCKLAND TOTALS
30,000 MORE NAMES
A record number of voters lias been enrolled- in Auckland this year as_a result very largely of the introduction of compulsory registration. For the nine Auckland electorates there are approximately 30.000 more names on the rolls than there were at last general election three years ago. The figures are as follow:
Auckland Suburbs is ;i now electorate, but as it is comprised o* areas taken frf.m neighbouring electorates the comparison of totals is an approximately fair one.
