SUFFERERS FROM CORINTH EARTHQUAKE

' WELLINGTON, This Day.A meeting of Greek residents in Wel-lington-was held yesterday with the object of forming a fund to assist sufferers by the recent disastrous earthquake in Corinth which rendered thousands homeless and destitute. Mr Dyer, Dominion Consul, for Greece, presided and read letters from the Minister of Foreign. Affairs in Athens and the Greek Minister in London.

A resolution of sincere sympathy, was passed, it being stated that in proof thereof a sum of money had been subscribed, which Mr Dyer was requested to forward for the sufferers. A large amount was collected in the hall and subscriptions have been received by the Consul from Greeks in other parts of the Dominion.
