After protracted trials the B.S.A. Thomson rifle won the British Government's £3OOO prize for a satisfactory self-loading rifle, says the "Daily News." It is of simple construction and easy to handle, enabling 35 shots per minute to be fired, which is almost twice as many as the present hand operated weapon'can fire. It is also claimed that the shooting is more accurate. Backed up with modern machine guns, the new rifle will be sufficient to meet any requirement of modern battle tactics.
