LONDON WOOL SALES The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram dated 11th instant from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London : “Wool sales opened yesterday with full attendance from all centres and active competition. Selection only moderate. Merino represented lightly and crossbred principally' sTiped. Compared with last series Australian merino unchanged and New Zealand par to 5 per cent, lower; fine crossbred par to 5 per cent, lower; medium and coarse crossbred unchanged; slipe par to 5 per cent, lower. Total offerings 99,800, of which New Zealand 44,000 and Australian 38,250.” Dalgety and Co. repaid, under date London, 10th inst.: “Wool sales opened with good competition and large attendance of buyers. Selection, poor, principally New Zealand slipes. As compared with closing rates of last series—Merino, unchanged; crossbred, unchanged; except combing slipe 5 per cent, to 7J, per cent, lower; clothing slipe, unchanged.” , DAIRY PRODUCE Dalgety and Co. report: Cheese: market firm. Prices are higher by 2s to 4s. Butter, market firm. Prices are higher by 4s to 6s. TALLOW SALES Dalgety and Co. report: Tallow: 807 casks offered, 309 casks sold. Prices unchanged. HIDE MARKET MELBOURNE, 12th July. The hide market is strong. Mediums and lights advanced a farthing to a halfpenny, kips one-eighth to a farthing.
