TAKAKA

HOCKEY MATCH A drawn hockey match between Bays and Wnitapu was played in Takaka on Wednesday afternoon last, there being no score on either side. The result gives the Bays the championship for this season, not having suffered a defeat this season. The attendance was a- record and the weather conditions perfect. The result was a good indication of the game, as there was nothing between the teams and the standard of play on both sides showed considerable improvement. The Blacks (Waitnpnj showed most improvement. Father Carmine and Mr Kobinson refereed. On Saturday next the Takaka District High School team will try conclusions with Ccllingwood at Collingwood.
