««■ ANNUAL CONFERENCE (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, 13th April. Organisation for the forthcoming general election occupied most of the New Zealand Labour Party's annual conference yesterday. Other questions dealt with were administration of hospitals and the necessity of representation of Labour on hospital boards. A resolution in favour of unemployment insurance was supported. A presentation was made to the retiring president, Mr Semple, to whom the conference carried, a unanimous vote of thanks, recording appreciation of the work he had done for the Party, and expressing confidence in him as its representative At the Labour Party Conference a motion was presented deploring Mr Scrapie's action in sending a congratulatory message to Mr T. D. Mutch, New South Wales, during the election there. Mr Semple's explanation was accepted, and the motion was rejected bv 101 votes to 1.
