NEW CUSTOMS REGULATIONS

Under the new Customs regulations, which commenced to operate in January last, and under which passengers from abroad must declare their luggage m the lorm (A a statutory declaration, the Customs revenue shows an increase, oi over 200 per cent as compared with the previous corresponding period.
The Minister of Customs, commenting thereon, stated that the changes had also had a good moral elicit, and had curtailed tin* activities of the small hut verv enterprising minority ot travellers who hitherto had riot hesitated delibe ratelv to lay themselves out to deiiaud the department.
