GLADIOLUS SHOW
ALTERATION IN ARRANGEMENTS
Alterations have become necessary in connection with the Nelson Horticultural Society's gladiolus show. Owing'to the erratic season, combined with particularly adverse conditions during the past week or ten days, growers have been unable to fill the classes, and instead of the' intended show at the Drill Hall it has been decided to have competitions and displays at the Oddfellows' Hall tomorrow nights Several classes wiH.be provided,-of which particulars aro advertised. . Entries already received will stand and additional entries will be received at the hall till 7 p.m. to-morrow. In order to make the.show as attractive as possible growers are asked to bring all the blooms they can in addition to those to be staged in the competitive classes. *" ' It Is to be regretted that conditions have been so unfavourable, for the gladiolus has become exceedingly popular during the past few years, and is grown on a- large scale by many members of the Society, and had circumstances been more favourable a very fine show would have eventuated.' As it is, members are asked to do their best towards making to-morrow night's display a success.
