FOUR NEW MOTOR SHIPS FOR NEW ZEALAND SERVICE Specially designed for the New Zealand cargo service, four now'motor vessels for the Shaw, Savill and Albion licet are expected to bo launched within (ho next six months. Two arc being built on the Tyne by Swan, Hunter, Wigham and Richardson and two on tho Clyde by the Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Co. The first of the new vessels, the Zelandie, is expected to load in New Zealand in April, the others following as soon as they are completed. Their names will be: Canborric, Karamea and Taranaki. The compliment paid to the Dominion is discernible in the naming of the first vessel, but to coin Canberrie was an ingenious recognition of respect for the Australian Commonwealth. The m\v vessejs will each have an insulated capacity for the carriage of refrigerated cargo of 400,000 cubic feet, •together with ample space for the accommodation of wool, pelts, skins, hjdos and other general cargo of that description. Each vessel will have tho latest and most modern appliances for tho handling and carriage of frozen meat, butter and cheese, and fruit. It, is estimated that the speed of the new motor vessels will be about 14i knots per hour, making the passage from New,Zealand to London one of approximately 33 days.
