BRITAIN’S EXPENDITURE (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Australian & N.Z- Cable Association’, LONDON, Bth June. Summing up the position of war pensioners to the end of March, it is disclosed that Britain spent000 on pensions. There were 1,005,000 benefiearies, including 40,000 living overseas. There were still 29,000 officers and men under treatment. The death rate of disabled pensioners was extraordinarily low being only 154 per 1000.
