(Received 10th June, 10.20 a.m.) BRISBANE, This Ray. Central and Western Queensland are in the grip of a.drought which is, said to be the most severe in the history of the State. The drought in sonic- places has entered upon the third year. There is little hope of amelioration before November or December, when monsoonal rains may fall. • .The areas involved comprise . the greater part of Queensland’s sheep-rais-ing country. Millions of sheep are being hand-fed and millions have died.
