The conference of inter-State representatives completed details for a 'comprehensive federal scheme for organising the pig industry, which it is submitting to the interests concerned, and if approved, State committees will be appointed with the central federal council. The functions of the council will include the. organisation of the pig industry on economic lines: raising the standard of production; the promotion of Australian and overseas trade; and file development, of the industry gerierrdlv.
