OBITUARY
>— MRS W A. BARNETT Another of Takaka’s most respected residents, Mrs W. A. Barnett, passed away at tlie age of 6G years at the Nelson Hospital this week'. “Deceased was the wife of Mr William Arthur Barnett of East Takaka. She had been ailing for the past 18 months, and during the latter period had been confined to bed in the Nelson Public Hospital, so her end was not altogether unexpected- The •late Mrs Barnett was horn ai East. Takaka and had resided in that- district, the whole of her life. Jn nil church work and social functions she was always willing to assist, and she made a wide circle of friends who will regret 1c learn of her death. She is survived by her husband, one daughter (Mrs P. tl Toms, of Palmerston North), and two sons, Mr Felix Barnett (Takaka) and Mr Laurence Barnett (East Takaka), to whom the sympathy of the many friends of the district will he extended. The funeral took place at the East. Takaka Cemetery, when the Rev. D. Evans conducted the ceremony which was largely attended.
