BRITISH TRADE DELEGATION
ARRIVAL IN AUCKLAND
(United Press Association)
AUCKLAND, 6th June
A delegation from the Society of •Motor Manufacturers and Traders of Great Britain arrived from Sydney this morning, and was accorded a civic, welcome by the Mayor. The Hon. G. J. Anderson, in welcoming the delegates on behalf of the Government, said that their policy was to encourage the use of British goods, both in respect of Customs duties and purchase. It was satisfied that British ingenuity and genius would overcome foreign competition. Sir Archibald Boyd-Carpenter, responding, said that he and his colleagues were aware there was no portion of the Dominions that had done so much to support British trade as New Zealand. They were out to study the dominions' needs and meet the dominions' wants.
