AN UNFAVOURABLE YEAR

(By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Australian & N.Z- Cable Association)

SYDNEY, 7th June.

The annual conference of the Dairy Factory Managers' and Secretaries' Association has commenced. Delegates from, New Zealand and the United States are present as guests. The president, in opening the conference, said that .in the past season, as a result of droughts, bush fires and floods, the price of dairy produce was not commensurate with the 'work and capital involved, and if under present conditions, women and children were withdrawn or debarred from assisting on dairy farms, the industry would be defunct in less than twelve months.
