APPLICATION FOR' NEW AWARD
(By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Australian & N.Z. Cable Association)
SYDNEY, 7th June. Tho Federal Arbitration Court commenced . hearing a case in which the claim of the Australian Workers Union and the counter-claim of, pastoralists and graziers for a new award in the pastoral industry are made.. A unique feature of the case is that pastoralists and graziers applied for a new award before the union's claims were made to the Court, thus giving the employers the right to open the case and throwing the onus o? justifying the Union's claims on the Australian Workers Union. The. latter organisation represents over 40,000 members, while 8877 graziers and pastoralists are concerned.
