WAIRARAPA DEFEATS POVERTY BAY (United Press Association) GISBORNE, This Day. One of the most spectacular representative matches ever witnessed at Gisborne was provided hv the meeting of Poverty Bay and Wairarapa yesterday, the visitors winning by a last minute converted try. The weather was fine, but the ground was sodden and very slippery and not conducive to open play. Nevertheless the game was fast and spectacular and ended with the scores— Wairarapa 20; Poverty Bay 17.
