FIRE AT HASTINGS

HASTINGS, This Day. An outbreak of fire occurred at hangley and Co.’s, produce merchants, Ivaramu road, on Sunday morning at 2.15, the flames sweeping through to the rear of a corrugated iron shed at the back of the shop, which was built in brick. The brigade arriv'd and quickly extinguished the flames. A large stock of valuable seeds, onions, potatoes,, and chaff, etc., valued at about £ISOO, was either consumed or ruined by fire, smoke and water. The cause of the outbreak is unknown.
The insurance on the building, owned bv the firm, was £3OO, on the stock £750, and on the plant £l5O, all in the? Phoenix office.
