ARAWA ARRIVES
WITH 299 lAIAIIGRANTS

AUCKLAND, This Day
A further contingent of 299 immigrants arrived by the Arawa- from Liverpool on Sunday. They represent the last large number of assisted settlers who will arrive in the Dominion for some time. With the exception of domestic servants and families of dependants of English set tiers already in New Zealand, (lie Government will close the door to immigrants for the next three months. Including the Arawa’s list,-over 700 immigrants have arrived in Auckland during the past- week, the Mataroa bringing 445 from London on Tuesday last. Of the 299, 103 were children and the great majority under. 12. Auckland lakes 111 -of The conpiement and the South Island quota is distributed as follows •—Otago 25, Canterbury 19, Westland 16. Nelson 6. Wellington takes 97.
