LONG SERVICE RECORDS | "Tho Mail” is in the fortunate posi- | tion of possessing a loyal and industrious staff. It is worthy of mention i that almost every member commenced I work at “The Mail” Office as a boy. i There is also a worthy record of long •sendee. The following members of “The j Mail” staff have been connected with the paper for 20 years and upwards:— j Years. ;W. Simpson, bead of jobbing dept. 49 M. S. Smith, machinist t... 45 F. Adamson, compositor 42 W. H. Simpson, sub-editor 35 A. K. Baxter, linotype operator ... 35 C. S. Spear, chief reporter 32 A. W. Tanner, linotype operator ... 21 J. G. Newton, overseer 20 'Die late Mr J. McEachen, overseer, completed 49 years’ service from the inception of the paper. Mr J. Newman, bookbinder, retired after 45 years, Major Simpson, present head of the jobbing department, witli 49 years, and Mr M. S. Smith, machinist, with 45 years, are . still actively engaged.
