-w— ■ ■ RESULTS AT A GLANCE Senior: Kiwi 4, Waimai 0; Stoke 3, Federal 0. Junior: MuUtoka 5, V.M.C.A. 1; Kiwi Waimai 0; Federal 3, Stoke 2 ; Wesley a bye. Ladies’ gamos: Rewa 4, Ngaio 0. KIWI 4 V. WAIMAI 0 Played lit the Reserve there was a good game, and at times very fast considering the fairly heavy state, of the ground. Kiwi did most of the attacking, their forwards combining well together. .T. Miller opened Kiwi’s scoring account. R. Whitwell later beat Rothwell (Waimai goalie) with a push shot. The half-time score was Kiwi 2, Wairnai 0. yOn resuming, 11. Whitwell put in some good work, well backed up by R. Whitwell and C. Burns, Tt. Whitwe.il scoring a good angle shot. Archibald and Hockey were playing well together, spoiling a lot of Kiwi attacks. From a corner hit 11. Whitwell put in a flying shot, but the goal was disallowed! The same player missed the top liar by inches with a- hot reverse stick hit. Waimai attacked, Shrimpton putting one over the Lop of the net. IT. Whitwell got the last goal for Kiwi, a clean hit from the edge of the circle. The game ended soon after. Messrs Kinzett and Hockey refereed. For the winners Batchelor (goalie) had very little to do, but was always on •the alert: Toms was the best back. Hawke spoiled bis play by missing too much. The halves were an even lot. Condell’p’ placing was the best. All the forwards played well. Amos (left wing) showed improvement, not hanging on so much. C. Burns (right wing) looks like a find in this position. 11. and R. Whitwell and J. Miller all nlayed well. For the losers Rothwell (goalie) saved same hot. shots, but wants to keep his feet. Archibald and Hockey both nlayed well and are a very safe pair of hacks. Of the halves On son was the best, but was a bit slow. There was very little understanding in the forwards. Best, Chanmari and Shrimpton were the most noticeable. -Nightingale and Silk are improving. STOKE 3, V. FEDERAL 0 Played at the £toke hockey ground this was a willing game, blit the uneven field would not allow first c-lass play, the Fedcrals finding it very hard To field the ball with their hand, let alone take it on their sticks. For Stoke C'. Dee and Allport Bros, were the best forwards. Giblin, Thing, Kraig and Black did well in the backs. Dee (2) and Allport (left-wing) scored. For Federal Cassells and Gibbons were probably the best, forwards, but lacked finish. In the backs Gibbs and Coombs were the stars. Messrs Gal Ton and Biggar refereed. SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS
