Probation for three years, abstention from liquor for that, period, and. restitution of £66, was the sentence passed by Mr Poynton, S.M., on Percival Rhys Wingroce, 36, who pleaded guilty to obtaining money from various Auckland firms by means of valueless cheques. Ihe offences were committed last September when accused went to England. He 'was arrested on return to New Zealand a fortnight ago.
