CONCERT AND DANCE

A concert party organised by Mr F. V\. Huggins gave a \ f ery enjoyable concert at Talmnanui on Wednesday night, lice proceeds being in aid of flip newly- • ormed cricket duo. The party was rewarded bv the presence of a large and appreciative audience, who encored rverv item in m> uncertain ma.mier.

Those taking pari ui the concert -vere Misses J.ouisson (violin). Jacobs .(jugs), Sweet (recitations), Hamilton '.songs with ukulele). Mrs 11. Harley (tongs), Messrs F. W. Huggins (songs), iirav and "Hilly” ventriloquist), and I. C. C. Scott, (chalk talks).

The aceompanimoms were played in an artistic manner by .Miss Ibuiuah Taylor, L.A.IJ. The thanks of the Cricket Club arc due to these ladies and gentlemen, from whoso eflorts the ('dances of the duo will greatly benelit. Alter the concert a very enjoyable dance was held, during which a line Mipper was dispensed by the ladies of Dilnusa. Dancing was kept up unto after midnight. Mr W. Diddle carried out the duties of M.C.. while Mr and Mrs McConchie supplied the music. As Taliunanui seems do be waking up a little it is to be hoped that the above 'entertainment will be the first ;>l many to come.
