At the close a resolution was passed thanking Hie candidate for his address, hut declaring that the meeting "was strongly of opinion that- th n candidate by standing for election was not acting in the best interests of the larniers of tnis electorate. or of New Zealand as a whole,-'and passes an emphatic vote of no-confidence in the candidate and his j arty and requests him to withdraw from' the campaign.”
