LONDON SHEEPSKIN SALES
Dalgotv and Co. Ltd. report having received the. following cablegram from their London house under date ol' the 17th instant: —Sheepskin Sales. —5800 ha 1 eta of sheepskins offered, including 2129 hales Punta Arenas, 4832 bales sold.. As compared with last sales closing rates crossbred combing skins prices are- 74- to 10 per cent higher, crossbred clothing skins par to 5 per cent higher. Following is the range of prices: Alelino three-quarter to full wooled 154(1 to 18d.: quarter to half woolled lOd to 14d ; short and shorn. 74d to 94<L Crossbred three-quarter to full woolled fine 134 d to 181(1 : medium and coarse llgd to 16d ; quarter to half woolled fine lljd to 154 d : medium and coarse 9d to 14d ; short and shorn 81(1 to 12d. Lamb 12d to 161-cl.
WELLINGTON AIARKETS Messrs A. G. Walaee and Co. report as follows:—Weather conditions continue to improve and the market shows a firmer tendency, ami we expect a good demand to maintain for fancy grade fruit. Undergrade fruit is not. commanding much attention, particularly desert varieties. The past week’s busines lias been slow, with the following values ruling : Pears, Coles and Nelis, choice, 10s to 11s, others 6s to 8s; LTiicoiimie, choice. 7s to Bs, others 5s 6d to 6s 6d ; Josephine, P. Barry. Vicars 5s to 5s 6d; Keiffers 7s to Bs, all at per bushel. Apples, Delicious, fancy 8s to 9s, others 6s to 7s; Jonathans fancy 6s to 7s, others 4s 6d to ss; Dougherty, fancy 6s to 7s, others 4s 6d to 5s 6d ; Sturmere, fancy 7s to Bs, othorsss to 6s; Statesman, fancy,6s to 6s 6d, others 5s 6d ; Ballarats, fancy 6s to 7s. others 5s to 5s 6d ; Washingtons, fancy 6s 6d to 7s, others 5s 6d to ss; Dunns, fancy 5s 6d to 6s 6d, others 4s to 4s 6d.
Green vegetables scarcer and much higher rates ruling. Pumpkins and marrows wanted. BHubarb. new sea son’s, 12s dozen smal bunches. Potatoes, Southern Dakotas, £8 10s to £9jy.vhite--skins poor demand. Onions £ls to £l6 per toil.

BUTTER Demand has improved during this week and market very firm now. Official quotations are:— New Zealand, finest, salted, 188 s to 192 s cwt (Is Sd to Is BA-d lb) ; unsalted, 194 sto 196 s (Is Bid th Is 8fd); other qualities, 184 s to 186 s (Is 71 d to 1 s 7-3 c t).
CHEESE Market firm and advancing, and demand is good. Official quotations are:—> New Zenlnad. coloured 108 s to 109 s up to 110 s (114,(1 to ll^d)> white 108 sto 110 s (Hid to ilgd). / Shipments New Zealnd produce arrived this week per s.s. Karamea and Raranga
HEMP Manila market opened firm. “<T" grade quoted at £49 sellers, but weaker tendency developed during this week, and closing quotations were, AugustOctober shipments £47 10s and value. Output of Manila from Ist January to 9th July was. 599,000 bales agai,nst--819,000 bales for same period last year. Stocks iu Manila on 9th July 178,000 hales against- 143,000 bales: in Great Britain 28,000 against 5,000 last year. New Zealand market closed quiet after firm opening. Sales reported high.plt.nts at £4O and fair at £37. Sellers now offering high-points, £4O and fair £32 10s.
WOOL Somewhat better competition at sales from Home buyers, particularly fo' ‘Tossbrcds. Prices for inferior crossbred lend lo be slightly easier, others unchanged.
APPLES Market had for all descriptions. Slurmer and Doherty 14s to 16s, others 10s to 12s. Of the Argyllshire and Athenic shipments the hard sorts are in good condition, but soft early sorts bad. Unloading Raranga consignment, condition of which is reported same as above.
TALLOW Spot market firm and fair business lias been done in afloat parcels. Active demand af auction. Present quotations are:—Mutton, fine 48s 6d to 49s per ewt ; fair to* good, 46s to 48s; dark fo dull. 43s to 445. Beef: Sweet and/or hixed, 47s 6d to 48s 6d ; fair to good, 44s 6d to 47s 6d : dark to dull, 41s 6d to 42s 6d. Mixed, fair to good, 44s 6d to 47s ; dark to duu, "41s 6d to 42s 6d , Out, etc.. 38s to 42s 6d.
