NELSON ROCK GARDEN SOCIETY
Since last announcement the following have been added to the lest of members: —Dr E. G. Lev in go (M. 8.), Christchurch; Mr Frank Mason, Feilding; Midi. J. TubUs, -Blenheim.; Mrs A. Duncan, -Blenheim; Father Heart* and Father Juice, Nelson.
Lather Joyce, Nelson. The society has now started its second year, and subscriptions -are wanted to pay for big extension of Rockery. Several collections of new plants have been received, sent free by members. The following, from a letter from Takapau, is worth reprinting. “I am pleased to say al lthe good things you have sent me along are doing well and I am very grateful, and consider that I have got full value for the ridiculously small subscription to- your society. Please do not make any special effort to send choice things to me, as although there are many tilings 1 covet, 1 feel veur local enthusiasts are entitled to first choice.”
This members has sent several parcels of very rare Alpines for the society’s garden, and certainly shows a fine spirit.
Several members have sent in four years’ subscriptions, and such actions are helping tremendously.
