A very pleasant evening was spent on July 11th at the home of Mr and Mrs Harry Griffith, Turakino Valley, Rai, to celebrate their silver wedding.' During the evening, which was given up to musical items and games, the Rev. Wenrne in a neat- speech presented them on behalf of neighbours and employees of Mr Griffith with a silver teapot and several pieces of electro plate. Supper was handed round, the company breaking up about midnight.

A Hamilton Press Association telegram states that Mrs Young, wife of Mr J. A. Young, M.P., who'was knocked down by a car on Friday night and seriously injured, is progressing favourably, and the doctors are hopeful of a re covery.
