NELSON EDUCATION BOARD’S PROTEST

The secretary of the Nelson Education Board (Mr H J. Thornton) has received a reply from the Education Department to the Nelson Board’s letter of 7th July last protesting against the use of school buildings as polling booths. The Department stated that the matter was being inquired into with a view to taking the matter up with the Electoral Department.

A telegram from Auckland in yesterday’s issue stated that the Auckland Education Board yesterday, also decided to take action on these lines.
