MINERS’ STRIKE
CLASH WITH POLICE (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) 'Reuter’s Telegrams.) HALIFAX (Nova Scotia), June 12. \\ ord was received here this morning indicating that disorders are spreading in the Cape Breton district, where coal miners are striking. Rioting is reported to have, broken out in New .Aberdeen and Glace Bay district. Five hundred troops, fully equipped, are on route to New Waterford, where striking miners and police clashed on Thursday. 'The former are still in possession of the power In.use. which they captured from the police. The looting of the stores of the British Empire Steel Corporation in the vicinity of New Waterford it. reported. HALIFAX (Nova Scotia). June 12. A troop train from Halifax was pelted with rocks by youthful strike sympathisers en route to the outskirts of Sydney, whence it will proceed to New Waterford. The troops, consisting of infantry and artillery, are armed with all equipment for active service. Royal Canadian Regiments, Toronto. London, and Ontario, are awaiting word from Ottawa to entrain for Capo Breton.
