CANNIBALISM IN NORTH AUSTRALIA
SHOCKING INSTANCES (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.) SYDNEY, This Day. Captain Wilkes states that his recent explorations in Northern Australia disclosed that some natives in the Goyder and King River districts still practice some promiscuous cannibalism. I?*'gave an instance of the case of a baby. After being buried two days the laxly was taken up and eaten. A young man was killed in a duel, and because his body was so fat. his enemies decided to cat him. Scarcity of fat was one of the chief causes of these practices.
