LOCAL BODIES’ ELECTIONS
TO-MORROWS POLLING
Tomorrow tlm local bodies and mayoral elections will he held, the polling booths opening at 9 a.m. and closing at 7 p in. For the position of mayor there are three candidates —Messrs W. Duck. 11. Coltinan and T. W T . Forster.
Fur nine seals on the City Council there are sixteen candidates. All the retiring councillors with the exception of Cr. D. I!. Edwards (who is absent in England) and Cr. II- Cuitman (who is contesting the mayoralty) are standing for re-election.
For tour seats on the Nelson Harbour Hoard there are five nominations —fill the retiring members and one new aspirant-. A puli will also he taken upon a proposal to raise a special loan of £5700 for the purpose of making improvements to recreation reserves and children s playgi minds, purchase of kind in Hastings Street, for recreation purposes and the purchase of motor lawn mowers and rollers and erection of necessary buildings in connection with the said improvements. Only ratepayers will have a vote on tin' propositi.
