A CLARION CALL
BY BRITISH PREMIER FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC AFFAIRS (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright-* (Australian & N.Z. . )able Association.) LONDON, March 6 A sort- of clarion call to the nation was uttered by Mr Baldwin at Birmingham. He declared that the blight of Europe was the diabolic suspicion between man nr„d man arid' nation and nation, saying that if Germany would play the game there was no reason why trade with Central Europe should not be restored ; while as regards domestic affairs an industrial storm was gathering which, if it broke, would spread misery far and wide and. sweep back the chance of reviving prosperity. The premier appealed to the organisations of employers and workers to sit down together and make a frank and determined -effort, when they would find that they were far more able to work out a solution of thei rtroubles than politicians.
