TUTANKHAMEN’S TOMB
TO BE RE-OPENED THIS MONTH
(By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Published in Tile Times.)
CAIRO, Jam 16
Mr Carter proposes to reopen Tun-ank-hamen’s tomb-on the 25th. It is not known yet what will be the extent of the work this season, but it is certain the inner coffin, which was removed to the sarcophagus in February last will be opened, and the mummy scientifically investigated. Archaeologists now believe the King’s funeral regalia will yet be found. They express the opinion that when the annexe, which was discovered packed with objects hitherto untouched and unentered, is cleared away ,a stairway will be found underneath leading to further rooms, and revealing other treasures, possibly the burial place of Tut-ank-hcamn’s queen.
