LOAN PROPOSALS

MEETINGS OF RATEPAYERS ,

Meetings of ratepayers will be held this evening in connection ■» with the forthcoming poll on the City Council’s loan proposals. One meeting will be at tho Brook street School and the other at Hampden street School. Crs. Gibbs, Nightingale and Coltnian will explain the proposals at Hampden street; Crs. Moffat t, Watson and Rus sell at Brook street.

The meetings will commence at 7.3 C and it is hoped there will be good attendances of ratepayers in view of the .importance of the proposals. On Thursday evening meetings will be he,ld at the Institute, and at the Port Mission Hall. The Mission Hall in Milton Street is not- available for Thursday, and the Council has therefore endeavoured tc meet the convenience of the Wood ratepayers by holding a meeting at the Institute, which is the only other building which could be obtained for the purpose.
