LONDON, July 29

The Daily Mail states that the death of Messrs Mallory and Irvine was foretold by the Abbot of Rongliuk before tiie High Lama. He is credited with possession of second sight. He warned the porters that a further assault on Mt. Everest would be attended by disaster because though tlm spirit of the mountain had been merciful up to that time it would wreak vengeance on future disturbers of his eternal peace. It is significant that after this warninv tho porters were, disinclined to make a long ascent, suggesting that their morale was affected.
