BRITAIN AND THE DOMINIONS
FUTURE IMPERIAL CONFERENCES
(By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Published in The Times.)
LONDON, July 18,
Regarding the conference with the Dominions’ representatives which the British Government proposed to hold in the autumn to evolve some system whereby existing methods of consultation between the Dominions and the Mother Country relating to foreign policy and Imperial affairs may be improved simultaneously, the Times says the opportunity will be taken to discuss the desirability of enlarging the representation of the various units, at regular Imperial conferences in order to obtain greater weight of authority for any recommendations reached. Having regard to the fate of the. preference resolutions attention will probably bo directed towards the usefulness of including in the representation members of the official Opposition to the various Governments actually in power, so that opinion from more than one quarter can be obtained on a subject before anv recommendation is made.
