ROYAL TEMPERANCE LEGION
A very successful meeting was held in the -Methodist Hall last evening in connection with the Loyal Temperance Legion. There was a large attendance of young people, including a number of fhe Y branch. Air King organiser of the New Zealand Alliance, addressed the meeting, giving a very helpful and instructive talk on the evils of alcohol, illustrating his address by lantern slides, also- some beautiful pictures were shown of scenery, and two illustrated pictures (The Road to Heaven and A Domestic Misfortune), the connective readings being given by Misses R. Batchelor and K. Alnyes. A quartette was also given by .F. and M. Oubb and D. and K. AVoodhouse; a duet bv F. and F.. Cook; also songs by the voting people. A most enjoyable evening was spent. An invitation was extended to all young people to link up with the L.T. !>. and Y branches.
