A GROWING EVIL

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.’ The Peninsula Rugby Football SubUnion is to take action to combat the spreading evil of betting on football matches. The matter was brought up at the annual meeting by Mr V. Craw, a lefereo, who stated that be bad found from his own observation that the evil was spreading and was undermining Peninsula football. He advocated that tile Sub-Unions should take a firm stand and act vigorously in suppression of the evil. iHe suggested that any player found betting on the result of a match should be suspended. Members present agreed with Mr Craw, and it was decided that the SubUnion should take definite action.
