Little loss of stock is reported, but many animals suffered severely as they were isolated and could not.be milked. The work of clearing the railway beyond ICaukapakapa will be resumed to-day. One of the chief works is the removal of obstruction at the mouth of Te Hekeroa tunnel, and the wont of consolidating the lino will be strenuous and long.
