OBITUARY

kR J. K. LITTLE

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day

The, death occurred in Wellington of Mr James Keen Little, \ for many years a resident of Christchurch, and very well/known in Nelson and Marlborough. Mr Little arrived in Nelson in 1870 under engagement as q brewer to Messrs Hooper and Dodson. l , Subsequently he entered into business on. his own account. During his residence in Nelson he was a member of the City Council and took a great interest in municipal affairs and local politics. Mr Little left Nelson to take up the position of head brewer for Manning and Co., Christchurch, a position he held for over 20 years. Many old residents in this city will recall having seen Mr Little driving a little grey pony in a pony chaise. Mr Little retired from Manning and Co. some years ago, since then residing in Nelson and Wellington. He was well known in Masonic circles us. a member of Victory Lodge, Nelson. He leaves four daughters and two sons. Both the sons served ’ in the Great War. The funeral took place in Christchurch on Saturday from, the residence of his son-in-law, Mr E. l B. Walker, Winchester Street, Merivale, and was attended by a number of Mr Little’s old friends. The'interment was at Linwood Cemetery, where the burial was conducted by Archdeacon Haggitt.
