NELSON HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY
ARRANGEMENTS FOR BULB SHOW
Tlie general committee of the Nelson Horticultural Society met at the Institute last evening, there being present Messrs G. A. Harkness (president), E. B. C. Hyde, W. Louisson. J. G. McKay, J. Wigzell (treasurer) and W. H. Simpson (secretary). An apology was received from Mr Arthur Day. Judges were appointed for thd Bulb Show to be held on 13th and 14th inst., and arrangements for that show completed. A special prize of £1 Is was received from Mrs Percy Adams, and was allotted to the class for twelve carnations at the summer show. . A discussion ensued on the naming of exhibits, and it was decided that exhibitors be requested to attach the name to all exhibits, in order to increase the educational value of shows. In those classes where names are definitely called for the condition will be strictly enforced.
The City Engineer’s complaint in regard to the rose garden in the Queen’s Gardens was considered, and the president was requested to forward a reply.
